At the end of March 2008 the Rotary Club de Guimarães commemorated his 60^th anniversary. Within the nearly 180 Fellows and Friends who joined the meeting where the Governor of the Portuguese District 1970, a delegation of 10 Fellows of the Rotary Club of Leicester, led by the President Derek Goodman, and the Rotary Club of Wigsdon made a strong impression in the audience. A high moment of the meeting was the public announcement of the distribution of 50 automatic external defibrillators to several institutions of the Guimarães county.
